Georgios Tsissios earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences from University of Dayton, and he is scheduled to obtain his Ph.D. in Biology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio this coming August. His Ph.D. work in Dr. Katia Del Rio-Tsonis laboratory was focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern the process of lens regeneration in newts. During this work he became interested in the immune system, and how certain cells such as macrophages, contribute to the process of lens regeneration. Currently, he is exploring different possibilities for a postdoc position in the regeneration field.
