She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Arizona, USA. Since 2017 Dr. Tatiana Sandoval-Guzmán, headed the research group Vertebrate tissue repair and regeneration at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), and since January 2022, is a group leader of the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden. The Sandoval-Guzmán group is interested in understanding several aspects of vertebrate regeneration, including the metabolic adaptation of regeneration and tissue integration. At the same time, the lab compares aspects of regeneration across species to identify key components that promote tissue repair.
